Role of Reactor in Granular Hot Melt Glue Production Line
  • 1. Raw Material Mixing and Reaction

  • Chemical Reaction: Raw materials of hot melt glue usually include polymers, tackifiers, antioxidants, plasticizers, etc. These ingredients need to be evenly mixed in the reactor by heating and stirring, and form a colloidal structure or other required chemical properties through chemical reactions.

  • Polymerization and Croll-linking Reactions: For example, in the production of some hot melt glue, it may be necessary to polymerize monomers into polymers through polymerization reactions, or to enhance the heat resistance, bonding strength and other properties of hot melt glue through cross-linking reactions. Reactor ensures the uniformity and stability of reaction conditions through precise temperature control and stirring.

  • 2. Temperature Control and Vacuum Degassing

  • Temperature Control: Precise temperature control is required during the reaction process. Reactor is usually equipped with a heating device (such as electric heating, steam heating, etc.) to maintain the required reaction temperature. Too high or too low a temperature will affect the reaction efficiency or lead to the generation of undesirable by-products.

  • Vacuum Degassing: In the production process of some hot melt glue, gases or solvents will be generated during the reaction. A vacuum system is required to remove these substances to prevent bubbles or impurities from affecting the quality of the glue. Vacuum degassing helps improve the purity and consistency of the product.

  • 3. Control of Reaction Time

  • The reaction time in reactor is crucial to the properties of the final product. Too long or too short a reaction time will affect the properties of hot melt glue, such as adhesion, heat resistance and and ductility. Reactor can accurately adjust the reaction time through an automated control system to ensure the quality of each batch of hot melt glue.

  • 1. Material Mixing and Homogenization

  • 2. Heating and Plasticizing

  • 4. Granulation and Cooling

  • Granulation: During the kneading process, the materials can be mixed evenly and made into granules or blocks through different forms of discharge ports, which is convenient for subsequent packaging and transportation.

  • Cooling Function: Sigma mixer can also gradually cool the material by controling the temperature, helping the material to maintain appropriate hardness and granular state when leaving the machine body.
