1. Raw Material Preparation
Polymers (such as Polyethylene, Polypropylene, EVA, SBS, etc.): Provide basic adhesion properties.
Resin (such as rosin resin, aromatic resin, etc.): Improve the bonding properties, fluidity and heat resistance of hot glue.
Plasticizers: Used to adjust the hardness and flexibility of hot glue.
Wax (such as paraffin, polyethylene wax, etc.): Adjust the fluidity and cooling time of hot glue.
Antioxidants, Stabilizers, Fillers, etc.: Increase the stability and service life of hot glue.
2. Raw Material Mixing
All raw materials are added to the mixing equipment according to the hot glue formula ratio, usually using a reactor or sigma mixer. During the mixing process, raw materials are mrlted and mixed evenly at high temperature to ensure the quality consistency of hot glue.
• Heating: The equipment uses a heating system to make the raw materials reach the required melting temperature, generally between 180-220℃.
• Stirring: Through a reactor or sigma mixer, the ingredients are fully integrated to form a uniform liquid colloid.
3. Melt Extrusion
The mixed hot glue is extruded through the melt extrusion equipment to form the desired shape, such as granules, strips or sheets. Hot glue is still in liquid during this process and can be transformed into a solid after cooling.
• Temperature Control: The temperature needs to be precisely controlled during the melt extrusion process to avoid excessively high or low temperatures affecting the quality of hot glue.
• Molding: According to the requirements of the final product, select a suitable mold for molding.
4. Cooling and Curing
Hot glue coold from a molten state to a solid state, and the curing speed depends on the composition and ambient temperature. Hot glue is quickly cooled through a cooling system (such as a cooling water tank, air cooling system, etc.) to ensure that its shape and properties are stable.
• Cooling Speed: The cooling speed affects the physical properties of hot glue, such as bonding strength, temperature resistance, etc.
• Control the Curing Process: Ensure that the cooling process is uniform to avoid quality problems caused by bubbles or uneven cooling.
5. Quality Control
During the production process, hot glue need to undergo strict quality inspections to ensure that they meet the standards. The main items include:
• Melt Flowability: Ensure the bonding effect and fluidity of hot glue.
• Bonding Strength: Test the bonding performance of hot glue to ensure that it achieves the expected effect.
• Hardness, Flexibility and Temperature Resistance: Test the hardness and temperature resistance range of the glue according to the requirements of the application scenario.
