    What is high pressure reactor?
    High pressure reactor is a type of reaction equipment commonly used in domestic laboratories. It is also an industrial equipment for chemical reactions under high pressure. It is a relatively special pressure vessel, and some are equipped with stirring or heat transfer devices. The lid of reactor is equipped with a pressure gauge, bursting membrane safety device, vapor-liquid phase valve, temperature sensor, etc., which facilitates understanding of the reaction situation in the medium ratio in the kettle, and ensuring safe operation.

Possible Faults and Solutions During Operation of High Pressure Reactor

  • 1. Water and Electricity Cut Off
    • Electricity Cut Off: The instrument and electric heating power supply should be turned off immediately, the tail hydrogen flow rate should be gradually reduced, and the pressure should be maintained to wait.
    • Water Cut Off: Except for the autoclave seal, which requires circulating water cooling, small and medium-sized devices do not have circulating water cooling systems, so small and medium-sized devices can still operate normally, and autoclaves can be shut down depending on the situation.
  • 2. Leak Occurred
    If leakage is found in reactor, the pressure should be reduced first, and then the nuts and joints should be tightened appropriately. It is forbidden to tighten nuts and joints under high pressure. You should first open the air outlet valve to slowly reduce the pressure, turn off all instruments and power supplies, and wait until the temperature in the reactor drops to room temperature before performing leakage detection and repair. It can be tightened under pressure, but the pressure should not be greater than 0.1MPa. If parts need to be replaced and disassembled, the temperature must be lowered to below 50℃ and the pressure must be reduced to normal pressure.
  • 3. Parameters Are Not Controllable
    If the operating conditions are difficult to control, such as the reactioin temperature changes sharply, the pressure in reactor changes sharply, the stirring motor speed is unstable, there are abnormal sounds or stuck phenomena, you need to stop feedinig, stop heating or cooling immediately, and check each component. Re-verify the experimental process and check the experimental parameters. Work can only be continued after the fault has been eliminated.
  • 4. On Fire
    When high pressure reactor itself catches fire or other items on the nearby operating table catch fire, the instrument and heating power supply should be turned off immediately if conditions permit. Use asbestos cloth, glass cloth to wrap the fire or a dry powder fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, and immediately remove the high pressurehydrogen cylinder, and then the pressure of high pressure reactor device is reduced.

Precautions for Operating High Pressure Reactor
  • 1. When there is no material in high pressure reactor, the heating and electric heating power sources must not be turned on, and the rated working pressure must not be exceeded during use. When using high pressure reactor, the cooling device must be turned off, which means that the remaining refrigerant in the kettle and jacket during the last reaction must be exhausted before materials can be input. During operation, start the stirrer first and then turn on the heating device. At the end of the reaction, the heating device and electric heating power switch should be turned off first, and then the stirrer should be turned off after 2 to 3 minutes.

  • 2. After a reaction process is completed, the materials stuch on the inner wall of high pressure reactor should be washed away with warm water as soon as possible, and then the inner wall of the reactor should be completely and thoroughly cleaned with 40℃~50℃ alkaline water, and finally rinsed with clean water to achieve durable purpose.

  • 3. When the reducer lubricating oil is found to be insufficient, it should be replenished immediately, and the oil bath heating medium oil should be replaced every six months.

  • 4. For high pressure reactor, you should always pay attention to the working conditions of the entire equipment and reducer. The safety valves, pressure gauges, electric heating rods, electrical instruments, etc. on the jacket and the kettle cover should be checked regularly. If there is any fault, replace or repair it immediately.
