With the development of new energy vehicles, LED lighting, communication equipment, electronic components, and high-performance computing devices, the demand for heat dissipation in electronic equipment continues to rise. As a commonly used thermal interface material, thermal grease must establish effective thermal contact between electronic components and heat sinks; consequently, high standards are required regarding the product's uniformity, stability, and thermal conductivity.
What is thermal conductive silicone grease?
Thermal conductive silicone grease (thermal grease) is a high-viscosity thermal interface material made from silicone oil or silicone-based materials combined with thermally conductive fillers.
Depending on the specific product formulation and performance requirements, various types of thermally conductive fillers can be used in thermal grease, such as:
• Aluminum oxide
• Boron nitride
• Zinc oxide
• Aluminum nitride
• Other functional thermally conductive powders
While these thermally conductive fillers enhance the material's thermal conductivity, they also increase the system's viscosity and the difficulty of mixing. Consequently, production equipment for thermal grease must not only possess excellent mixing capabilities but also be capable of handling materials with high solid content and high viscosity.
For high-viscosity, high-filler products such as thermal grease, equipment selection cannot be based solely on motor power; factors such as material movement patterns, shear capability, temperature control, and discharge methods must also be considered.
