Recently, JCT workers are producing hot melt glue reactors and polyol reactors. What are the differences between the reactors for different uses?

Different Reactant Characteristics

Hot Melt Glue Reactor
1. Raw materials are EVA, SIS, petroleum resin, tackifier, antioxidant, etc.
2. It is a medium-high viscosity or molten system. After the reaction, the material is normally solid or highly viscous.
3. More emphasis is placed on high shear mixing and anti-adhesive structure.

Polyol Reactor
1. Raw materials are polyols, propylene oxide (PO), ethylene oxide (EO), acids, etc.
2. It is a low to medium viscosity reaction system, sometimes with strong corrosiveness (such as anhydride).
3. It has extremely high requirements for temperature control accuracy and safety, especially when it involves toxic and flammable gases (PO/EO).

Heating Method

1. Hot Melt Glue Reactor
Usually uses thermal oil for high temperature heating (temperature up to 180~250℃), and requires a stronger insulation system.

2. Polyol Reactor
Uses thermal oil or steam jacket for heating, with precise temperature control (reaction temperature is usually 100~200℃).

Process Control and Safety Requirements

1. Hot Melt Glue Reactor
Control focus: mixing uniformity, material dispersion, heating and cooling efficiency.
Safety focus: avoid local overheating, avoid carbonization or coking of materials.

2. Polyol Reactor
Control focus: temperature, pH value, acid value, dripping rate.
Safety focus: explosion prevention, oxidation prevention, exhaust gas neutralization (EO, PO reaction).
