The mainingredients of silicone sealant are organosilicon polymers (107 glue, crosslinker and filler). These materials are flame-retardant or self-extinguishing under normal conditions and will not burn as quickly as solvent-based sealants when exposed to fire.
2
After curing, silicone sealant forms a silicon-oxygen bond structure, which is resistant to high temperatures and aging. When burned, it produces silica residue, unlike ordinary organic sealants that continue to burn.
3
Most silicone sealant on the market are neutral or acidic single-component, do not contain significant amounts of organic solvents, and are therefore essentially non-flammable.
Silicone sealant, due to its non-flammability, safety, environmental friendliness, high-temperature resistance and weather resistance, has become the preferred sealing material for industries such as curtain wall construction, window and door installation, home waterproofing, electronics, and automotive manufacturing. With the global emphasis on building safety and green building materials, market demand for silicone sealant continues to grow, particularly in the rapidly developing construction and infrastructure markets of the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.
