EVA Hot Melt Glue And Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue | JCT Machinery

March 25, 2025
  • Q
    EVA Hot Melt Glue
Advantage scenarios: Low cost, fast bonding, porous materials
    Limitations:
    • Not suitable for high temperature environments (such as car engine compartments)
    • No contact with grease or chemical solvents (such as oily packaging)
  • Q
    Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue
Advantage scenarios: Weather resistance, high-strength bonding, non-polar materials
    Limitations:
    • High cost, not suitable for price-sensitive low-end products
    • Weaker wettability to porous materials (such as wood) than EVA

hot melt adhesive production line

Selection Suggestions
1. EVA Hot Melt Glue
Fast curing and low cost are required (such as carton sealing)
Bond porous materials (wood, textiles)
2. Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue
High temperature / chemical environment (automobiles, electronics)
Non-polar materials (PP / PE plastics, metals)
Long-term outdoor use (waterproofing projects)

Key Equipment Differences of Production Lines
  • 1. Melt Mixing System

  • EVA Hot Melt Glue Production Line: Use paddle reactor to achieve gentle mixing by low-speed stirring.

  • Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue Production Line: High shear equipment (such as sigma mixer) must be used to destroy the crystallization of polyolefin molecular chains.

  • 2. Temperature Control System

  • EVA Hot Melt Glue Production Line: Heat transfer oil heating (120-150℃), ordinary PID temperature control.

  • Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue Production Line: High temperature heat transfer oil/electric heating (180-220℃), requires precise temperature control in sections (such as 5-zone temperature control of the barrel).

  • 3. Molding and Cooling

  • EVA Hot Melt Glue Production Line:

  • • Underwater pelletizer: After the melt is extruded through the die head, it is directly cooled underwater and pelletized.

  • • Optional cold pressing into sheets (for block rubber).

  • Polyolefin Hot Melt Glue Production Line:

  • • Extrusion strand pelletizing: The melt is extruded through a porous die head and solidified through air cooling or water cooling tank before pelletizing.

  • • A cooling water circulation system must be equipped (to avoid thermal deformation of polyolefins).
