1. Raw Material Preparation
Phthalic Anhydride (PA): one of the main raw materials.
2-Ethylhexanol (2-EH): another main raw material.
Catalyst: usually an acidic catalyst such as sulfuric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid is used.
2. Esterification Rection
Reactor: use a reactor for esterification reaction.
Reaction Conditions: usually the temperature is 180-220℃, the pressure is normal pressure or slightly negative pressure.
Reaction Process: phthalic anhydride and octanol react with esterification under the action of catalyst to generate DOP and water.
3. Water Separation
Separation Equipment: usually a water separator or water separator is used.
Process: the water produced by the reaction and part of the unreacted octanol are separated by a water separator. The separated water needs to be discharged in time, and the unreacted octanol can be recycled.
4. Refining
Vacuum Distillation: The crude product is separated by a vacuum distillation tower to remove low-boiling substances (such as unreacted raw materials and by-products) and high-boiling substances (such as excess phthalic anhydride).
Decolorization: Sometimes it is necessary to use activated carbon or other decolorizers to decolorize the product to remove color and impurities.
5. Cooling and Storage
Cooling: The refined DOP product is cooled to room temperature by a cooler.
Storage: The cooled DOP product is stored in a sealed storage tank for subsequent packaging and transportation.
6. Packaging and Transportation
Packaging: The finished DOP is packed into standard containers, such as steel drums or plastic drums, ensuring good sealing to prevent leakage.
Transportation: The product is delivered to customers or markets by tank trucks, containers or other suitable transportation methods.
