Reactor For Sodium Percarbonate Production | JCT Machinery

February 13, 2025
  • Q
    What is sodium percarbonate?
Chemical properties: Sodium percarbonate is a stable chemical substance that is easily soluble in water. It decomposes in water to produce hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate, and has strong oxidizing properties.
    Application areas:
Household Cleaners: As an oxidant, it is widely used in cleaning products such as laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid, and has the functions of decontamination, bleaching and disinfection.
    • Industrial Use: It is also used in some industrial cleaning, bleaching and disonfection processes.
    • Environmental Application: It is used for oxidation reactions in sewage treatment.
The Role of Reactor in Sodium Percarbonate Production
  • 1. Chemical Reaction

  • Reactor is the main equipment for the reaction of hydrofen peroxide and sodium carbonate to product sodium percarbonate. Hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate react in the reactor to produce sodium percarbonate adn release water. The reaction needs to be carried out under precisely controlled temperature and stirring conditions.

  • 2. Reaction Control

  • Reactor ensures the stability and efficiency of the reaction process and the quality of the final product through the coordination of the temperature control system, agitator and pressure control device.

  • 3. Reaction Liquid Distribution

  • The stirring system of reactor can ensure the uniform distribution of the reactants, improve the reaction rate and thoroughness of the reaction, and avoid premature decomposition of hydrogn peroxide.

  • 4. Efficient Product Generation

  • Reactor can efficiently generate sodium percarbonate by ensuring stable temperature, pressure and mixing during the reaction process, reducing raw material waste and improving production efficiency.

Sodium Percarbonate Production Process
1. Dissolution and Mixing: Sodium carbonate is dissolved in water and hydrogen peroxide solution is added.
2. Reaction and Crystallization: The reaction is carried out at appropriate temperature and pressure to generate sodium percarbonate and form crystals.
3. Filtration and Separation: Separating sodium percarbonate crystals from the solution by filtering equipment.
4. Drying: Drying sodium percarbonate crystals to a low moisture content.
5. Crushing and Screening: Crushing and screening the dried sodium percarbonate to obtain suitable particles.

  • Q
What type of reactor is needed for sodium percarbonate production line?
The reaction process needs to be carried out within a specific temperature range (usually 0℃ to 30℃). Too high a reaction temperature will cause hydrogen peraxide to decompose and produce instability; while too low a temperature will affect the reaction rate and reduce the yield of the product.
Therefore, reactor must be equipped with a jacket temperature control system to accurately adjust and maintain the reaction temperature. The reaction temperature can be adjusted by circulating cooling water or other cooling media in the jacket.
