1. Reactor
Main reaction vessel, usually cylindrical, with heating or cooling jacket to control reaction temperature.
2. Stirring Device
Ensures adequate mixing of materials to prevent local concentration and temperaure gradients.
3. Feed System
Used to continuously add reactants, usually including pumps, pipes and flow control devices.
4. Discharge System
Continuously remove reaction products to keep the liquid level and reaction time in the reactor stable.
5. Temperature Control System
Control the reaction temperature through a jacket, coil or external heat exchanger.
6. Pressure Control System (if applicable)
For high-pressure reactions, pressure control and safety devices are required.
