◪ Chemical Solvents
The use of specific chemical solvents can soften the silicone sealant, making it easier to remove. When using chemical solvents, please read product instructions, follow safe operating procedures, and ensure adequate ventilation.
◪ Mechanical Removal
Use a mechanical tool such as a scraper, scraper knife or scraper brush to physically remove the silicone sealant. In this case, be careful not to scratch or damage the surface.
◪ Heat Treatment
Silicone sealant can be softened by heating, making it easier to remove. A heat gun or other heat source can be used, but be careful not to overheat and damage the substrate.
◪ Specialty Glue Removers
There are a number of special glue removers available that are designed to remove different types of sealants, including silicone sealants. These products often contain chemical ingredients that effectively break down the sealant and make it easier to remove.
◪ Mechanical Grinding
For solid surfaces, consider mechanical grinding mehods such as sandpaper, grinding wheels or grinders. This method required care to avoid surface damage.
