1. Curing Method
Hot melt glue : It is a solid glue that turns to a liquid when heated and then solidifies when cooled. Hot melt glue is usually heated and applied in a hot melt glue gun.
Silicone sealant : It is a one- or two-component adhesive that gradually solidifies at room temperature through moisture in the air. The curingg process of silicone sealant is relatively slow.
2. Basic Ingredients
Hot melt glue : Typically consists of hot melt adhesive particles that melt to form a viscous liquid when heated.
Silicone sealant : Based on siloxane polymers, silicone sealant usually contains elements such as silicon, oxygen, carbon and hydrogen.
3. Adhesion Performance
Hot melt glue : Has strong initial adhesion properties, but may lose some stickness under extreme temperatures (especially high temperatures).
Silicone sealant : It has good high temperature resistance and can maintain stable adhesion in high temperature environments.
4. Applicable Temperature Range
Hot melt glue : The applicable temperature range is narrow and is greatly affected by temperature.
Silicone sealant : It has a wide applicable temperature range and can maintain good performance under extreme high and low temperature conditions.
5. Elasticity and Flexibility
Hot melt glue : Generally hard and not very flexible.
Silicone sealant : It has good elasticity and flexibility and is suitable for occasions that require a certain deformation ability.
